DEMONSTRATING MECHANICAL EXPERIENCE to the FAA: Below are sample letters.  Please only use them as a guide.  In order to receive authorization from the FAA to test for a given A&P Certificate you must first demonstrate that you meet the experience requirements.  Applicants must demonstrate this experience with letters from present and previous employers.

INTERNATIONAL: Like mentioned elsewhere in this website all international applicants must have their Letters of Experience authenticated by the (CAA) prior to arrival at our facility.  In your letters please be sure to note the need for you to possess the American Mechanic Certifications.

• General Company Experience Letter #1:

• Military Experience Letter:  This letter can be used as a guide for both U.S. and International Military Mechanics.
• International Company Experience Letter:  This letter also bares the stamp of the Civil Aviation Airworthiness Authority.
• International Letter Stating Need for A&P Certification: This Letter Demonstrates to the FAA why you need the American A&P License.  Usually your employer will mention that you need the license because you will be working on "N" registered aircraft.   
• Sample  Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Letter #1:  This is a sample letter from the Civil Aviation Authority in Guyana authenticating the experience of an applicant.
